What mic did you use for this?
The one from Dan's APX 6500. I edited the textures a bit, though.

Also check that in the Configuration window > General > Compatibility, Settings is set to GTA V.
If it is already set to GTA V, set it to another value first (for example Default), then set it back to GTA V, and click on Apply.

wonderful job! any chance of doing the full ready for the road package?
Thank you! Though I don't yet have a plan for the rest since I mostly make parts as I need them for my own projects.

Thank you so much for this! Great job. Do you have a discord server?
I don't have one.
idk if there is one irl but could there be a charger varient? but looks rlly nice!
Cj uploaded one in his Discord.
Your reference to "I’m guessing you have some exterior surfaces that’s on the chassis? If that’s the case, move them to the bodyshell." I made boxes that are the shape of the vehicle but my vehicle only has bullet holes on certain parts even though its 116 for the whole chassis col. What would I move and where?
I don't think the issue is with the collision since it draws sparks when being shot at. I was talking about the actual mesh for exterior surfaces of the car. If you can attach a screenshot of zmod for the part that's not showing bullet holes that could help with troubleshooting.
Don't know if anyone has let you know, but by default the headlights and taillights and front windshield are able to be tinted.
If you mean alpha vertex painting then yeah I didn't mess with it. I can certainly fix it when I'm updating the base.
Also make sure the window has both a vehglass layer AND a vehglass_inner layer (facing inwards).
The game only draws bullet holes on certain bones, including bodyshell, wings, doors, hood and trunk, etc. I’m guessing you have some exterior surfaces that’s on the chassis? If that’s the case, move them to the bodyshell.
What is the dummy "petrolcap" for ?
When you shoot that area the fuel tank will leak and the car will be out of fuel in a couple minutes.
I was in need of a good Charger for my LAPD fleet and decided to take a stab at reworking Thehurk's base. My original plan was just to make some small tweaks and optimizations, but the scope has since expanded very quickly which ultimately resulted in an exterior and interior overhaul, plus bug fixes and more optimizations.
Some of the edits include:
- New headlights, taillights, brake lights, and functioning marker lights.
- New dirt map.
- New dials with digital speedometer.
- Modified lower grill, exhaust, door shuts, suspension, pedals, and vents.
- Fixed hood and door seams; corrected normals for many exterior surfaces.
- Material improvements for door trims, window surrounds, trunk, hood, badges, etc.
- Added windshield defroster, mirror and visor stickers, plate light, brake pads, door lights, dash and door speakers, charger nameplate, radio screen, dome light glass, among other details.
- New interior button and emissive textures.
- New UV-mapping for most of the interior surfaces.
- Adjusted seating positions and vehicle collisions.
- Heavily optimized L1; added L4. (Poly count: L0 148k, L1 49k, L2 23k, L3 6.4k, L4 1.3k)
Notes
- I've mapped the doors and pillars to the secondary vehicle paint per LAPD color scheme.
- The template is the same as Thehurk's, with the exception that the door handles are now mapped separately.
- A new window template is included.
- Also included are PSD source files for the dirt maps, which might come in handy if you want to make some changes to them.
- The vehicles.meta file is required to have the correct dashboard (dials) type.
- The carvariations.meta file is required for correct dial colors.
Acknowledgements
- Thehurk for the original dev base. This edited version could exist only because of his original release which is a great foundation for me to work with.
- TacticalDonut for helping me with beta-testing and finding bugs that I would have otherwise missed!
- RobertTM for allowing me to include his awesome tires with the edited release.
That should be it. I hope y'all enjoy!
I was in need of a good enough quality Northrop Grumman MDT screen (the software that's commonly used by LAPD) for my Charger but was unsuccessful at finding any, so I fabricated this. It's in PSD format and everything is scalable/editable. Feel free to change the main content should you choose to use it. If you want to scaled it down, I highly recommend scaling BEFORE rasterizing the text for maximum legibility in-game.
If you don't have Photoshop, there is an online version at photopea.com that's pretty good.
v1.1: Added the "vehicle inquiry" and "person inquiry" screens.
